UWCNEO Announces Open Call for Community Fund Proposals

United Way Centraide North East Ontario - Wednesday, 9 December 2020

United Way Centraide North East Ontario/Nord-est l’Ontario (UWCNEO) has issued an open call for Community Fund proposals for the 2021/2022 funding cycle. Qualifying organizations serving the Districts of Sudbury, Manitoulin, Timiskaming, Cochrane, Nipissing and Parry Sound are invited to apply from December 9, 2020 – January 15, 2021.

“Applying for funding is a two-part process,” says Mary Lou Hussak, Executive Director with UWCNEO. “The first step is to complete a statement of interest. Qualifying organizations will then be invited to participate in step two of the process by submitting their funding proposal online.”

“There is impactful work happening in our communities, and these organizations need resources to continue doing their essential work. Many frontline social service providers have experienced a significant increase in clients while having to adapt their services in response to COVID-19. The sustainability of social service programs that address poverty, foster community engagement and connections, provide social and mental health supports, and promote success in education is the focus of our Community Fund,” says Hussak. “Through this open call for funding, we invite organizations working within our Community Investment Strategies to apply.”

A virtual information session is scheduled for December 16, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required and organizations wishing to participate can sign now.
