Learn how our Community Response Fund is fighting the impacts of COVID-19.

The imagination of a child has limitless potential.

On a Monday they might want to be a doctor. Tuesday, a fireman. Wednesday, maybe a pirate. The power of play is recognized for its effectiveness in helping children develop their cognitive, physical, social, and emotional skills. At a time when 1 in 4 Canadian children are vulnerable in one or more areas of development before entering the first grade, the need for partnerships and targeted approaches is today.

The revitalization of community playgrounds will benefit children and caregivers, as well as neighbourhoods across Greater Sudbury.

Accessibility, safety, and upgraded equipment will not only promote physical activity, social interactions, self-regulation, and conflict resolution; it will provide our children with a place that supports free play — a place to call their own.

Stay tuned for more announcements in the months ahead.
