Fundraising Engagement Coordinator – INTERN 
One-year paid internship 

THE OPPORTUNITY: 
United Way Centraide North East Ontario (UWCNEO) is currently seeking a Fundraising Engagement Coordinator to join our dynamic team of do-gooders. UWCNEO is poised for growth over the next three to five years. Reporting to the Communications Manger, the Fundraising Engagement Coordinator will support the work of the Revenue Development team by leveraging brand awareness, using digital platforms, and engaging with audiences using creative digital communications strategies. As an integral part of the UWCNEO Revenue Development team, you will contribute to the growth and success of our diversified fundraising strategies.

RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE

FUNDRAISING:

  • Develop and execute a communication plan to support fundraising initiatives.
  • Contribute to content development for use across various communication vehicles and to support fundraising team (i.e. backgrounders, news releases, speaking notes, website, social media channels, e-blasts, advertisements, proposals, impact reports, funded partner stories). 
  • Develop a robust plan for generating and sharing impact stories.
  • Support the development of digital poverty simulation initiative. 
  • Work with revenue development team to deliver communications support for key events, announcements, tours, workplace campaigns, affinity groups, etc., including design work and capturing events with photography and/or video.

DIGITAL:  

  • Develop and execute a multi-channel digital fundraising and engagement strategy 
  • Manage the implementation of a digital acquisition and retention program for UWCNEO using email marketing, lead generation, social media (paid and organic), display ads, search and other digital platforms as appropriate. 
  •  Identify new and creative growth strategies; develop plans to reach growth targets; ensure ongoing testing and program optimization. 
  • Stay current with social media trends and best practices.
  • Support the development and implementation of e-blasts for fundraising and donor stewardship purposes (using email marketing platform).

OTHER DUTIES AS REQUIRED: 

  • Some evening and weekend work may be required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary school graduate with a degree or diploma in marketing and communications, fundraising, or a related field from an accredited college or university (within the last three years) 
  •  Previously funded NOHFC Interns are not eligible 
  •  Understanding of, and commitment to the work of UWCNEO.
  • Bilingual (French/English) will be considered an asset.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload, prioritize tasks and competing priorities while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Ability to work effectively, independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience across media platforms, and knowledge of current digital, social media and marketing trends.
  • Graphic design and photography skills (videography an asset).
  • Experience with MS Office, InDesign, Photoshop, WordPress (Mailerlite/MailChimp an asset).
  • Ability to use data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements.
  • Knowledge and experience with donor database will be considered an asset. 
  • Valid driver’s license and daily access to a reliable vehicle, and ability and willingness to travel.  
  • Team player with a positive attitude with a strong work ethic, 

The successful candidate will be required to provide a current Police Criminal Record Check.
