United Way Centraide North East Ontario/Nord-est de l’Ontario Welcomes New Executive Director

NORTHEAST ONTARIO – United Way Centraide North East Ontario/Nord-est de l’Ontario (UWCNEO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Cory Roslyn as its new Executive Director, effective June 17, 2025.

Cory brings more than 15 years of experience with the Elizabeth Fry Society of Northeastern Ontario, having served as the Executive Director for the last 8 years where she championed social equity, strengthened regional partnerships, and led with compassion and purpose. Her work has focused on improving outcomes for vulnerable and marginalized populations throughout northeastern Ontario.

“We are thrilled to welcome Cory to United Way Centraide,” said Doug Conroy, President of the UWCNEO Board of Directors. “Her experience, integrity, and passion for community-driven change will lead our organization into the future.”

Cory’s values and leadership style strongly align with United Way’s mission to move people from poverty to possibility, help kids be all that they can be, and build strong and healthy communities. Her deep understanding of the region and dedication to collaborative approaches will be vital to continuing UWCNEO’s impact across northeastern Ontario.

“I’m honoured to join United Way Centraide North East Ontario,” said Roslyn. “This organization has a strong history of tackling the root causes of social issues while uplifting local voices. I look forward to building on that momentum and working with our team and partners to create lasting, positive change.”

Outgoing Executive Director Mary Lou Hussak, who has led UWCNEO with vision and heart over the last six years shared her confidence in the transition:

Cory’s experience, collaborative leadership, and commitment to equity will serve the region well. I look forward to seeing United Way continue to grow and make a meaningful difference under her guidance.”

Cory Roslyn’s appointment follows a comprehensive search process led by the Board of Directors.
