United Way Centraide North East Ontario is excited to announce its 2023 Day of Caring events in Sudbury on Friday, September 15, and in Timmins on Thursday, October 5, 2023.

The Day of Caring initiative is the United Way's response to helping fulfill needs in our communities.  We understand that sometimes maintenance and repairs or special projects are not completed at non-profit agencies due to health, financial, and personal restrictions, or that help may be needed through volunteer labour or donated supplies.  These are the kinds of projects for which Day of Caring was designed, and each year, companies and individuals come together to volunteer their time and talents to help local organizations.

FOR VOLUNTEERS:

Sudbury volunteer teams are now welcome to apply for the Day of Caring! Applications must be completed and submitted no later than Friday, August 4, 2023 at 4p.m.

Please ensure all team members' information entered on the application is accurate. As the applicant or Main Contact, you will be responsible for correspondence with UWCNEO staff leading up to the event day.

FOR AGENCIES:

Agency applications for Sudbury must be completed and submitted no later than Friday, June 30, 2023 at 4 p.m.

Agency applications for Timmins must be completed and submitted no later than Friday, September 8, 2023 at 4 p.m.

In order for the Day of Caring to be successful, we need your help in identifying projects you would like to be considered for this year.  Jobs may range from painting, cleaning, gardening, and  minor repairs, or the delivery of a special project.  Please remember that the safety of volunteers is essential and potentially dangerous jobs will not be approved.

Submitting an application does not guarantee a spot for the day.  Our volunteer committee will review each application before making any decisions on each project.  Requests must be able to be completed in no longer than 6 hours.  It is up to the discretion of the Day of Caring Committee to approve each application.
