March 1, 2022, Sudbury, ON – United Way Centraide North East Ontario/Nord-est de l’Ontario (UWCNEO), in partnership with Canada Revenue Agency, is now offering the virtual Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVIT) to help low-income earners file their taxes at zero cost.
“We are pleased to be offering a virtual, over-the-telephone service that will help clients file their income tax returns from the safety of their homes,” says Linda Dupuis, Governance and Partnership Manager with UWCNEO.
The virtual CVIT program is available from March 1 – April 29, 2022. Eligible clients may register online at uwcneo.com or by phone at 705-560-3330 ext. 210.
Please note, wait times may be lengthy due to high number of participants. All clients will be contacted in sequence to have their taxes completed over the telephone.
“This is a vital service that helps thousands of clients each year,” says Dupuis, adding, “We are grateful to our volunteers for making this program possible.”
