Unplug to Reconnect. Put the phone down. Lift someone up.

What would you do with one extra hour?

This May, join United Way Centraide North East Ontario’s Unplug to Reconnect Challenge and trade screen time for real connection.

✔ 7 days of simple unplug prompts

✔ Tools to support your mental wellness

✔ A chance to strengthen connection in our community

Why This Matters

Across Northeastern Ontario, individuals and families are facing increasing mental health challenges. At the same time, our daily screen time continues to rise.

Connection is powerful.

When we unplug — even for 60 minutes — we create space for:

  • • Real conversations
  • Stronger relationships
  • Time outdoors
  • Community belonging

And that strengthens mental health.

How It Works

Step 1: Sign Up - Receive our free 7-Day Unplug Guide delivered to your inbox.

Step 2: Unplug for 60 Minutes a Day - Replace scrolling with something meaningful.

Step 3: Lift Someone Up - Consider making a gift to support local mental health programs funded by United Way.

The Impact

Funds raised through this campaign help support programs across our region that:

  • Connect individuals to counselling and mental health services
  • Create safe spaces for youth
  • Reduce isolation and strengthen belonging

In Northern Ontario, connection isn’t virtual — it’s personal.

Make Your Hour Count

If you can unplug for an hour, consider donating the value of that time.

  • $25 supports community-based mental health programs.
  • $50 helps strengthen youth programming.
  • $100 helps build safe spaces for connection and support.
